I am currently a tenure-track Instructor at University of Hawaii- Leeward Community College. I am interested in innovative ways to engage students in Psychology and Human Development topics in the classroom. I encourage my students to relate the material to their own lives. I am also committed to making the material accessible to my students.

I am focused on teaching currently. However, my research interests focus on how young children learn in different sociocultural contexts. I am especially interested in how children learn about social categories (e.g., race and gender) and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) in the context of parent-child interactions and children's media. I regularly incorporate these topics into my classes as I guide students in mini-research projects.
